The shower room had failed at the grout and silicone joints. Water was tracking in behind the tiles over time, and by the time we opened it up, the timber underneath had started to rot. We stripped it back to the frame, replaced anything that had perished, then tanked the whole area in a waterproof wet room system before retiling. Everything original was refitted once the structure was sound again, so the room is back in use and properly protected against the same failure happening twice.
